Our Florence hotel can be found in
the heart of the historic centre just a 10 minute walk from
the Cathedral and Michelangelo’s David. The hotel is on the city's main bus
routes, with stops just outside the main entrance. If you wish to organise
your trip in advance, we can book tickets for the Uffizi Gallery,
Medici Chapels, Galleria dell’Accademia, etc.
As you leave the hotel, you'll find yourself right in the heart of
the historic centre. Palaces of the nobility, churches, museums,
characteristic streets are all woven together to form a fine fabric that is
a wonder to see on every visit. You will see the Santa Croce Basilica,
which houses works by Giotto, Cimabue and
Brunelleschi, or the Cathedral of Santa
Maria del Fiore, whose magnificent dome was created by Brunelleschi and frescoed
by Vasari and Zuccari. The extraordinary Piazza della Signoria
is home to the world's most famous museum, Galleria degli Uffizi, and walking
on from there you soon come to the enchanting Ponte Vecchio.
Like other Florence hotels, Hotel de la Pace has adopted
one of the city's “smaller museums”, the Brancacci Chapel,
which contains important frescoes by Masolino and Masaccio,
and is just twenty minutes' walk from the hotel.

Directions By Car
To get to via Lamarmora from Autostrada A1 or A11, follow the signs for the Viali di Circonvallazione and the city centre. The Viali take you to Piazza della Libertà, where you take Via Cavour towards the centre. Take the second left - Via Micheli - and turn left again at the first intersection - Via Lamarmora. After about fifty metres you come to the hotel, where you can park your car and unload your luggage. The hotel is in a restricted traffic zone, therefore cars cannot be parked along the roadside. There is an affiliated garage service just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

From Florence's “Amerigo Vespucci” Airport - just a 15-minute ride to the hotel by taxi; - by "Airport Shuttle bus". Direct service, with no intermediate stops, runs every day at 30-minute intervals. Tickets available onboard at 1.55 one way. Departs from outside the Arrivals hall and terminates at Santa Maria Novella station. Buses no. 1, 7 and 17 leave from S.M.N station and head towards Piazza San Marco. Frequent services on weekdays and Saturdays. The first stop after Piazza San Marco is right in front of the hotel. - the no. 62 bus leaves every 25 minutes and takes you to Santa Maria Novella station. Tickets for this service are valid for all city routes (excluding the Airport Shuttle) and must be bought before boarding. Buses no. 1, 7 and 17 leave from S.M.N station and head towards Piazza San Marco. Frequent services on weekdays and Saturdays. The first stop after Piazza San Marco is right in front of the hotel.
